  1. TEMP. EHMAN FORMATTER INSTRUCTIONS
  2.  
  3. Please place a copy of SQ555 init in the startup disk's System folder for Removable drives.
  4.  
  5. This replaces the instructions on pages 14-15 of the removable manual 
  6. and  pages D-1 - D13 of the Hard Drive Operating Manual.
  7.  
  8. Make sure you have a back up of any files that you do not wish to loose!
  9.  
  10.  1.  Boot computer with HDD Formatter Diskette and open disk.
  11.  
  12.  2.  Double click on HDD Formatter.
  13.  
  14.  3.  Next Screen - Click on New ID
  15.  
  16.  4.  Next Screen - Click on proper SCSI ID for drive to be
  17.           formatted.  Click on OK.
  18.  
  19.  5.  (Optional)  Click on Icon to the left of SCSI ID to change
  20.           to desired Icon.
  21.  
  22.  6.  Click on Format.  This brings up a dialogue box with 
  23.           Warning - this option will erase all data on volumes
  24.         of disk.  Click on Continue.
  25.  
  26.  7.  Next Screen - Click on Interleave for correct computer.
  27.       Click on Normal
  28.  
  29.  8.  When completed, click on Partition.  This brings up another
  30.       dialogue box with "Warning - this option will erase all data 
  31.       on volumes of disk." Click on Continue.
  32.  
  33.  9.   Next Screen - Name disk or partition if desired.
  34.        Click on Add
  35.        Click on Initialize
  36.  
  37. 10.  Next Screen - Click on Safe Update.
  38.  
  39. 11.  (Optional) You may run Safe Test if desired.
  40.  
  41. 12.  Click on Quit. When you are finished with the Formatter.
  42.  
  43. Drive is now formatted and ready for use.
  44.
